베트남 역사 7: 첫번째 외세 침략 항전 / Vietnam History 7 : The first battle against foreign invasions

979년 다이꼬빗(Đai Cồ Việt)의 황제이자 장남이었던 딘린(Đinh Lĩnh)이 암살당하자 6살이던 그의 동생 딘또안(Đinh Toàn)이 왕위를 이었다. 이 기회를 놓치지 않고 송나라가 군대를 이끌고 다이꼬빗으로 쳐들어왔다. 왕은 아직 너무 어려 국사를 돌볼 수 없었기에 조정의 신하들은 모여서 누가 송나라 군대에 맞설 지휘관으로 적합한지 의논했다. 모든 사람들이 십도장군(Thập đạo tướng quân, 총사령관)인 레환(Lê Hoàn)을 지목했다. 군사들의 만세 환호 속에서 왕의 어머니인 즈엉 황후가 즉시 레환을 불러 곤룡포를 입히고 왕위를 선양하였다. 이로서 레환은 왕위에 오르고 레 왕조의 시조가 되었다.

 

The first son of the former king and the king of the present, Đại Cồ Việt, Đinh Lĩnh was assassinated in AD 979. And his 6 year-old brother Đinh Toàn took over the throne. And The Song (A Dynasty of China) invaded Đại Cồ Việt in order not to miss that opportunity. The King was still too young, cannot handle the affairs related to dynasty. So lieges discussed about who would be the best option to fight against invader. And everyboday pointed Lê Hoàn, supreme commander. In the midst of the military cheers, mom of the king gave a royal robe which was embroidered with dragon to Lê Hoàn and Lê Hoàn became a new king. Lê dynasty started.

 

왕위를 선양 받는 Le 왕 / King Le, taking throne

981년 초 송나라 군대는 육로와 해상을 이용하여 쳐들어 왔다. 수군은 바익당 강(Bạch Đắng)을, 육군은 랑선(Lặng Sơn)을 통해 전진하였다. Lê 왕은 병사들과 배를 타고 바익당 강에서 적을 맞섰다. 말뚝을 강바닥에 박아 적군의 배가 전진하는 것을 저지했다. 바익당 강에서 격렬한 전투가 이어졌고 결국 다이꼬빗이 승리했다.

육상전투에서는 찌랑(랑선, Lặng sơn)에서의 격렬한 전투 끝에 송나라는 군대를 물려야만 했다. 다이꼬빗 군대는 송나라 군대를 추격하였고 송나라 군대는 병력 절반 이상을 잃어야만 했다. 적장은 죽었으며 전쟁은 다이꼬빗의 승리로 끝이 났다.

 

At the beginning of the year 981, armed forces of the Song dynasty invaded through two way: Ocean and inland. The navy follwed stream of Bạch Đắng river and the army chose the way passing by Lặng Sơn. The King Lê ordered soldiers to interscept the enemy on the river. He made his men drive stakes into the bottom of the river in order to stoo enemy ship's moving forward. After several fierce battles, Đại Cồ Việt won a victory.

At ground combats of Lặng Sơn, troops of Đại Cồ Việt also beat off the enemy. They chased soldiers of The Song and vanquished. More than a half of the Song's soldiers lost. Commander of the Song died at the battle. Fianlly Đại Cồ Việt won the war
